Teknogirişim GSYF is the Venture Capital Investment Fund established by Kuveyt Türk Katılım Bankası A.Ş. and Vakıf Katılım Bankası A.Ş. It is managed by KT Portföy Yönetimi A.Ş.
The investment strategy of this Fund is to invest in businesses which are active in the present or about to act, which do or will present technological solutions in financial technology, healthcare technology, transportation technology or other fields of service or commerce, for the purpose of turning scalable and technology- and innovation-oriented business ideas of entrepreneurs into businesses having a high potential to create value-added and jobs for skilled people.
The term Venture Capital Investment Fund (GSYF) is defined in Article 4(1) of the Venture Capital Investment Fund Communique No. III-52.4 as follows: “Venture capital investment fund refers to an asset fund established under a bylaw and for a certain maturity period by a portfolio management company or a venture capital portfolio management company licensed by the Capital Market Board, funded by cash or shares collected from qualified investors against participation shares, operated as a portfolio consisting of the assets and trading transactions defined in paragraph 3 of the above mentioned article in accordance with the fiduciary property principles in favor of the participation share holders, having no legal person status.
The maturity period of each Fund is stated in its bylaw and its certificate of issue.
These funds may not be used for any purpose other than operating its portfolio consisting of the assets and trading transactions described below:
a) Venture capital investments
b) Shares of joint stock companies incorporated in Turkey, including privatized companies, or financial instruments issued by private sector or public sector entities to raise funds.
c) Financial instruments issued by foreign private sector or public sector entities, which may be traded in accordance with the Turkish Currency Protection Decree No.32 put in effect under the resolution no. 89/14391 passed by the Council of Ministers on 7/8/1989.
ç) Time-deposit bank accounts or participation accounts.
d) Investment fund participation shares.
e) Repo and reverse-repo transactions
f) Warrants and certificates
g) Lease certificates, real estate certificates
ğ) Takasbank money market transactions
h) Cash guarantees and premiums for derivatives transactions
ı) Specially designed international investment instruments and loan participation notes approved by the Capital Market Board
I) Other investment instruments approved by the Capital Market Board.
